Ingredients

1½ to 2pounds shrimp, in the 15-to-18-a-pound range (or smaller, if skewered), peeled, rinsed and dried

1 large clove garlic, finely chopped

1 tablespoon salt

½ teaspoon cayenne

1 teaspoon paprika

2 tablespoons olive oil

about 2 teaspoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice

Heat the grill or broiler on high setting. Make sure grill becomes hot. |

Mince garlic with salt; and then add to a small bowl and mix with cayenne and paprika. Add the olive oil to make a paste. |

Add the lemon juice and then smear mixture on shrimp. |

Grill or broil shrimp, 2 to 3 minutes a side, turning once. |

Place on platter and serve immediately or at room temperature with lemon wedges. |
