Wild flower centerpieces

Whether you have access to some summer wild flowers in a garden or walk in the countryside, or you can find a variety of interesting flowers at your local florist or market, making a colorful array brings nature right to your table.

I spend my summers in England, and my garden somehow manages to flourish despite a slight lack of attention.  Arriving in June to see the blooms, or some of the fruits of my labor from the summer before, is truly satisfying.  And when the time is right, and there are flowers in abundance, I cut a few to bring their glory inside, or for my table in the garden.

Directions

1
Done

I found these two containers at a home store. I loved the look, kind of feel slightly antique and old-fashioned. But Mason jars or regular purpose-use vases work just as well. The idea is to find something that inspires you, and suits your own style.

2
Done

Pick a selection of flowers with different colors, sizes, types of leaves to maximize the variety and over all look.

3
Done

Evenly separate flowers to fit each container, cut for ideal height- I like about 1-inch (2.5cm) above rim of the container.

4
Done

Add water to each container, add flowers and admire the beauty!
