Ingredients

1 16- ounce loaf of Italian bread or French bread

4 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened

3-4 tablespoons olive oil

2 large cloves of garlic smashed and chopped, or you can use garlic powder but not as good

sprinkle of salt

tablespoon finely chopped parsley or basil

Preheat oven to 350°F. |

Cut the bread in half, horizontally. |

Mix the butter, olive oil, and garlic (optional add parsley or basil) in a small bowl. Spread butter mixture over the the two bread halves. |

Place on a baking pan and heat in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven. |

If you want more brown around edges, set oven to broil, and toast for 2-3 minutes watching it the entire time! |

Cut into 2 inch slices. Serve immediately. |
