a dinner for loved ones creamy tomato soup, grilled steak with lovey potatoes, and caramel apple pie dessert
There is no better way to show to show your love than preparing a special meal with your own romantic touches.
Whether made for just two people, or for your entire family, this menu will bring a warm feeling to everyone’s heart.
The dessert is an apple pie with heart cut outs. If you do not want to make a dessert, buy one! One of my favorite is chocolate mousse served with a heart-shaped sugar cookie.
What a delicious way to show your love, especially on Valentine’s Day. Creamy tomato soup is surprisingly satisfying and the heart-shaped croutons add a fun, loving way to make it more special for any Valentine’s dinner. The recipe is quite easy to make and serves four people, but feel like taking a short cut? Buy the…
Grilling steak may take a few tries to master but the key is not to overcook, if anything, undercook because you can always cook it more. A good meat thermometer is helpful to avoid slicing into the center for color. In this recipe, the steak is best served medium rare and after resting the steak to…
These potatoes are a little novelty to make around Valentine’s Day, well for that matter whenever you want to send a little love. Yes, heart-shaped, you are seeing correctly. The heart-shaped potatoes are easily made with a heart cookie cutter and then sauteed in a little vegetable oil. You can make just a few hearts…
The first time I made this caramel apple pie was for an Easter lunch with my then boyfriend, and now husband, and his family. I was so nervous that when I made the pastry, I forgot to add enough butter. I realized before rolling out into the pie pan. Thank goodness a kind friend was…
Creating a striking centerpiece does not have to be time-consuming or expensive. Every once in awhile, I love the beauty and simplicity (and tradition) of red roses. In a medium sized vase resting on a glass mirror, the flowers say so much without any explanation. A classic and timeless way to express love to your…

In the restaurant business, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are two of the busiest holidays. But Valentine’s Day is often a fixed menu, or prix fixe, with seatings- reserved set-times. The reason is that most tables are for just two people which lowers dining sales. As a result, you will find higher prices, elaborate menus and reserved seating to compensate waiters and the business overall.
Even more of a reason to stay in and create romance at home.
